MoniQA FST "Alternative methods for microbiological analysis of foods and feeds"
Event type(s):
Related events
The training is organised by the University of Food Technologies and the MoniQA Association. Participants will learn about the common food pathogens and the available rapid methods for microbiological analysis of foods. The FST (food scientist training) will provide relevant theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience on PCR methods (classical PCR and real-time PCR) for the detection and quantification of pathogens in food samples.This year the training will expand its focus to mycotoxins in foods – producing microorganisms and factors contributing to mycotoxin contaminations, methods for de-toxification and the regulatory frame. Taking place at the University of Food Technologies, Plovdiv the workshop will be held in Bulgarian language and will consist in two parts:
Theoretical part:
Common food pathogens and currently available rapid methods for pathogen detection and quantification
Introduction to molecular methods
PCR – basic principles, equipment, applications, combinations with other analytical techniques
